It would be possible to connect IRC channel & OneLiner chat by using a bot which intermediates communication.
This might mean that OneLiner window becomes too small but there could be an option to open a new window for OneLiner chat by pressing a button. Oneliner can also get more space if it is extended downwards. "Who's online" window could be placed to the right side instead (and moderator list can be written in two columns or without returns to save space) I am not sure how good ideas these are but at least they are something to consider BTW, I do not think that moving IRC channel away from IRCnet was a good idea, most of people have some channels open at IRCnet so it would be more convenient to have that channel there |

I don't concur. That would pretty much spam the IRC channel to death (looking at the frequency of oneliner posts vs average frequency of people talking on IRC channels I'm in) and it's pretty inconvenient anyway (all messages come from the same user, so no nickname highlighting, no privmsg, etc...). If someone's on the Nectarine website and the IRC channel at the same time, they get notified of an ongoing conversation in two places (website and IRC client), which I personally would find quite annoying and irritating - If I see there are unread messages on an IRC channel, I expect them to be something new and not something I've read on the website already 5 minutes ago.

Likewise, all relevant tracker scene channels (#modarchive, #mod_shrine, #modulez, #modplug, #renoise, #botb, #milkytracker...) are located at EsperNet. And IRCNet sucks anyway, especially for users of some countries (Germany, Poland, ...) that don't have a bouncer. |
