Hi,
We have moved the demovibes project site over to Google Code, it can be found at the following link: http://code.google.com/p/demovibes From this point onwards, this should be the place to go to report all bugs found (that are not specific to the site) as well as request new features. The developers will be checking the site daily for such reports to assist us with developing. I will start going through some of the forum posts on the site later today and add the ones I think are valid feature reqs/bug fixes, though if you want to go ahead and submit them for me, please do so The new change also see's us switching to a SubVersion repository instead of Mercurial, which allows us to branch out the code a little better. For those who want/need/interested in looking at the code, you can check out the latest dev-branch directly from the site, or download the latest stable release (which won't be updated as often as the latest dev versions). This allows us to focus more on the code than messing around with anything else. Instead of having documents in 10 different places, we can go to one place, and keep that ticket updated as to it's current status. Reporting Bugs / Feature Requests Visit the Google Code site linked above and go to the Issues tab. From there, you can click 'New Issue' and from the template list, pick the template that best describes what you are trying to do. When posting tickets, please be as descriptive as possible. If we are missing info or the request isn't clear we will kick it back and ask for more info. If we see no issues being posted, then we can only assume that the code posted is perfect!! As always, if you have any additional questions about this change, or anything in regards to the project itself, feel free to contact myself or Terrasque. Thanks! If an admin could sticky this post, that'd be great! |

Er, not sure if this thread is still valid, but...
One thing I would love to see is an update to the Upload Song page. -------------------------------------------------------------- Things that I would use frequently include: a Lyrics field a Download Link(s) field an option to tag a song with two artists -------------------------------------------------------------- Granted, the current system for submitting lyrics is adequate. While the download link will show up if we place a URL in the song info, the page looks much cleaner with a formal Download section. The mods do not always remember to include this. Example: Retrorespect has a download link section. Space Debris (2010 Reloaded) does not.
EDIT: Okay, that's a YouTube video. I had a hard time finding a song without a DL link section, so maybe this isn't such a problem. I think the case for adding a second artist is obvious. The site is severely limited without it. |

Probably low-priority, but I miss the "dedicated to..." field when requesting songs.

I second that there should be a download URL input field in the upload form. That's a lot less hassle, because we don't have to copy the URLs manually then. That would probably also encourage people a bit more to submit downloadable content.

Hey,
I've started using the demovibes-code to setup an intranet streaming server here. It works very nice (tested with about 15000 songs in it). I plan to generalize the functionality by adding functionality to update the database dynamically based on newly added files in the music folder(s). Cheers |

After some recent confusion in the oneliners, maybe a field "Gender" in the profile would be nice.
Oh hi, spacepaw! |

btw. I looked through forum and I'm suprised that there's no mod development section. Like questions, links to tutorials etc. concerning mod creation (zik, gfx and code - possible subsections :))

Dynamic request throttling:
Queue length > 10(ish) songs? Limit 2 reqs per user Queue length > 20(ish) songs? Limit 1 req per user |

hornpipe2: Throttling is good for preventing extreme queue lengths, but it also means that the "early birds" can get all the reqs, while the late-comers (or those in another time-zone) get the scraps...
