I'm MyO the HedgeFox, or, actually, Danila Evstifeyev, a Russian tracker music fan.

And it's also a good metaphor for video games if you think about it: all victories are meaningless; the real victory is just to quit the game and use what you've learned from it to do something More Productive with your life. To achieve some real goals, not some illusory goals like K's.
Art, if it's worth anything, should teach you something useful about the world--should get into someone's head, should change the way you look at things, should give you one or two new ideas to chew on and incorporate into whatever you do with your life. But it also costs you time and imposes certain goals on you: find all of the interesting things about this painting. Get to the end of this book; see how this imaginary story resolves. Finish this game. The journey to those goals helps you, of course, but those goals in general are completely arbitrary--yet too often (and especially in games), they become the entire point. You're playing the game in order to finish it so you can play more games. And at some point, the costs in terms of time and attention start to outweigh the benefits.
So I'm totally in favor of putting a price on the stuff that does do some good in the world so that eventually, that can be my job--I can keep myself alive, have sixty-seventy more good years in which to work, and devote most of that time to the work. Some people are going to say: well, you have this great idea that helps the world, you should give it away for free in order to help. I say it helps the world much more if I don't give the idea away for free, because then I have twenty, thirty good ideas in my lifetime to sell as opposed to three good ideas that I give away--and then I have to feed the machine for the rest of the time. See what I mean?
In order to sell art, you have to have something worth selling, of course: otherwise you really are a huckster, wasting people's money and time. I think Immortal Defense is worth that money and time--certainly as much as the other TD games are, if not more.
