i will give you a link, and say that, if you don't take actions yourself, we might be forced (not before 2013), to take Nectarine down after this treaty is signed by the EU Parliment.
Say no to ACTA now!
Help spread the word, take action against ACTA now!
This is the End Game for the whole internet society as we know it.

Don't SOPA me, bro!
18 Jan. 2012
10:41

There is a lot of buzz about SOPA lately. Most of you people probably know about it, but I'd still like to raise some extra awareness about it, and tell where we stand. I was thinking of blacking out the site, but this will have to do.
Many of you might have noticed that Wikipedia have blacked out their pages, that Reddit have plans to do the same, and the americans among you might have seen the new US Google Doodle.
First, let me tell you this : SOPA is bad. Really bad. Not only does it allow breaking of the fundamental parts of the internet (DNS/DNSSEC), but it also allows any site to be nuked, with little or no legal process. Yes, even sites outside USA. Yes, even .... this site.
Now you might protest, saying that this is a wholly european-run site, and is completely out of the jurisdiction of the United States. You are right. They can not touch our server. But they can kill our domain name, stop all american search engines (and directories, and blogs, and web pages in general) from linking to us, and kill our paypal account. The end result is much the same.
That's right, an all-european website can be nuked from the whole web because someone in the United States think it host or link to content that MIGHT infringe on their (american) copyright.
So, I earlier mentioned "little or no legal process". The SOPA law says that one can send a note to service providers (dns, search, paypal, adsense and so on) requesting a takedown, and that service provider can then choose to take it down, in return gaining immunity for lawsuits for providing / taking down the service (they also have to notice the client, after its shut down). Or said in reverse, if they don't take it down they open themselves for lawsuits. This is without any legal involvement.
In addition, this is voted on by people who pride themselves on not knowing anything about the internet, not using it, not even listening to experts in the field, and also gets a lot of funding from the interest groups that want this law passed..
So, our stance is of course an emphatic NO to SOPA, and its cousin PIPA. There is no redeeming aspects to it, it will affect the whole web in a bad way, and in short, it's completely insane.

By the way, folks.. This, this and this is how crazy it is today. What would those people do with all that extra power?

Nectarine Design Compo
13 Oct. 2010
12:57
(or at least hope to reach it in some near future),
we prepared a compo for all you
graphicians/webdesigners out there to celebrate
this moment of glory.
Task: create a new design for nectarine
Format: graphics / mockup / html+css templates
Deadline: 2/11/2010
Additional info: no it does not have to be 3 column,
no it does not have to be based on what we currently
have. Be creative, use HTML5, ride the edge of current,
use javascript, ajax, css effects. Go for the future,
or bring back the past. Fuck IE.
Please send entries to arabek
in the gmail domain ;)
Cheers!
P.S. Maybe someone would like to recreate the look'n'feel of the old Nectarine (Workbench/Amiga like) for example?
From Terrasque:
1. Of course, bonus if the html stays more or less static. CSS themes with current HTML have the advantage of us being able to have multiple themes :)
2. Current HTML templates can be found here.

Nectarine Compo #5 - Tribute to..
26 April 2010
12:49
Because I temporarily have no access to change threads, I will try to shortly tell the rules and changes here (so take this as complete and only rules for compo).
RULES
- Choose your favourite author/s and make remix of his/their songs. No time limit.
- remix 1 or more (unlimited) songs in 1 from ANY author/s (living or R.I.P.) (can be from different authors)
- song name format: NC05-YourNick-SongName
NC05 is constant
YourNick is your artist name
SongName should fit the theme, or song/author you did choose (for example, mix of 3 hubbard's songs can be named "Hubbard's Megamix".. however, it's just my recommendation and it's up to your decision.. I will accept any name)
- pay attention to [mp3] encoding.. Nectarine can play only CBR (as far as I know)
- no tags/info in song, keep it anonymouos (but you can leave informations about genre, year and other not author relative informations)
SONG SENDING CHANGED - Pay attention!
- when you are done, send the song on my e-mail (below) and you can PM me here to be sure I got it. I should answer you as soon as I see it and add you to the list of contributors in news.
michalsefl at gmail dot com
(sending has been changed, because Nectarine is not yet prepared for compo uploading as I planned)
VOTING
- Voting will remain the same as in last compo. Just choose song, when it's released (it will be 1-2 days after date in topic name) in competition section and comment it with "1-100" text, where 1-100 is your vote ("72" for example), 1 is awful and 100 is awesome. You can comment it, but it's ONLY optional, not required:)
UNTIL: 22.05.2010
(2 weeks added as compensation for changes)
The compo results:
Sorted by place
Song number | Average score | Final place
04 | 85,20 | 1. Spiral
